2008 Bristol Bay Fishing Summary
|
The Kings decided they would take their time and arrive in regal fashion this year and they did. The last week in June started the season with a lot of happy fishermen. Due to a cold winter and water conditions the royal Kings waited for the weather and barometer to fall and they arrived in the later part of the week just in time to fill clients tags.
The following weeks were treated to the cold Alaskan weather and good fishing. Sockeye and Chum were harvested as well. Again, everyone went home with filled boxes.
Week three the big Kings graced the Nush with their presence. Nice fresh large KIngs were harvested as well as Chums and Pinks. The largest King of our season was hooked a whooping 47 pounds! This week turned out to be a phenomenal fishing week. Cold and rainy and great fishing!
This last week of July has brought in the Pinks. They are plentiful and full of spirit when hooked. They are leading the ways for the Silvers...
August indeed started with a run of Silvers that increased in number and size in week two. The second week was the amazing week! One day Michael with clients counted 98 fish plus per person! Really was something.
2008 Summary Fish on the Nush 2008 proved to be a hearty harvest both Kings and Silvers. Timing and weather did play important factors on the runs. Both KIng and Silver runs were about 7 days later than predicted and the Pinks the came in on time and there were a lot of them. In summary Bristol Bay Adventures many clients went home with a lot of fish and good fishing times were had! BBA lodge hosted the most successful clients on the river. Clients stayed in the finest accomodations, ate the best meals and took home the most fish of any other camp on the river.
